The honest answers
Is generation really unlimited?
Yes. The engine runs in your browser, so making a tune costs us nothing — roll the seeds as many times as you like on any plan. You pay only to keep more than 25 of them and to render the chiptune voices.
What does a seed actually save?
A seed is the whole tune in a few bytes. Septet is deterministic: the same seed and the same knob positions always rebuild the same take, note for note. Saving a seed is saving the recipe, not a recording — so a kept tune never rots and weighs almost nothing.
Do I need a paid plan to hear anything?
No. Press play on the free plan and the band plays through your browser's own synth. The paid plans add the SID and NES engines — the same tune, voiced like a 1987 sound chip.
Can I cancel anytime?
Anytime, from the billing sheet — no email, no phone call. Your kept seeds stay readable on the free tier; you only lose the chiptune render and anything over the free seed shelf. Cancelling leaves you on the plan you paid for until the period you've already paid for runs out.
What about tax, and do you give refunds?
Prices are shown excluding tax; any VAT or sales tax required where you are is added at checkout and itemised on every receipt. New paid plans come with a 14-day, no-questions refund — write to hello@septet.audio within two weeks and we send the money back in full.
